A group of Haitian women find refuge from the unrelenting sun under a lush shady tree in Blackwood, Eleuthera (The Bahamas). The morning's wash is drying on the line in the middle ground (far left). On the far right, a young man in red pants is walking away on the dirt path leading into the village.
Born in The Bahamas, Ritchie Eyma is a noted landscape painter of Haitian extraction. His vibrant oil canvases, typically Bahamian landscapes and seascapes, present an interesting blend of realism and impressionism. Eyma lives and paints in Marsh Harbour (Abaco, Bahamas) where he shares a studio with his wife, fellow artist, Roshanne. To learn more, please visit www.eddieminnis.com.
